My Future Care Handbook
Over 60 pages packed with information and, for those wishing to use the internet, links to further online resources. A one-stop shop for all things related to later life and beyond, from compiling a bucket list to writing a Will, from creating a music play list to considering where you want to live and/or be cared for if you need support, and much, much more.
“I can’t recommend this strongly enough. Whether for an ageing relative or for your own information, education and action, it cuts through red tape to focus on decisions you might want made on your behalf if/when you can’t.” Neville
“This is a really great resource. Accessible and simple to follow with some important wins just by working through the book. We loved it.” Philip
“The Handbook is literally a one-stop-shop for anything and everything future care related. What makes this resource particularly useful is how accessible it is. It takes what is a really tough topic and makes it as easy to address as it’s ever going to be.” Beth
Buy one, or buy a pair so you can chat about the various topics with a family member and record decisions for both of you.
Mycarematters works with other organisations to create bespoke versions of the Handbook for a particular geographical area or client group. For bespoke designs please phone 01403 210485 or send an email to orders@mycarematters.org

My Future Care Buddy Service
We offer a free service to support you to decide on your priorities, prepare an action plan and see it through, using the My Future Care Handbook as a structure for the conversation. Click here for further information.
Power of Attorney Service
We have teamed up with specialist Clare Fuller to offer a full Power of Attorney drafting service. If you wish, Clare will also support you to develop your action plan (no extra charge) so your conversation can range across all the topics covered in the Handbook. You’ll benefit from dealing with one person, whilst giving Clare the opportunity to ensure that she fully understands your needs before creating your Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) on your behalf.
Clare is a Registered General Nurse and has specialised in providing care for people at the end of life working in hospices, the community and acute hospitals. She worked in a national role for the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) delivering the acute hospital GSF programme, supported delivery of the NHS Five Year Forward View plan working for a Clinical Commissioning Group and as a Director for a Practice Alliance. Clare’s LPA services are rated excellent on Trustpilot.
There are two types of LPA:
Health and Welfare LPA gives an attorney the power to make decisions about things like:
- your daily routine, for example washing, dressing, eating
- medical care
- moving into a care home
- life-sustaining treatment
Property & Financial Affairs LPA gives an attorney the power to make decisions about money and property for you, for example:
- managing a bank or building society account
- paying bills
- collecting benefits or a pension
- selling your home
You can select whether you would like us to draft one (£139.95+P&P including Handbook) or both (£239.95+P&P including Handbook) types of LPA for you. You will also see a further option of ordering as a couple: 2 Handbooks and 4 LPAs cost a total of £429.95 +P&P.
These prices exclude the charge made by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) of £82.00 to register each LPA. There are exemptions and remissions available depending on your circumstances and the price includes support in applying for exemption or admission as appropriate.
